Presenters
Andy Bonner
Andy has been at Radio Clatterbridge since the tender age of fifteen. He began presenting his first programme as soon as he was old enough - about a week after his 18th birthday. Andy is a television journalist, although he admits most stories he covers concern some form of acrobatic animal.
Bethan Meredith
Bethan Meredith joined the Saturday Crew in 2006. A Social Worker by day, she relaxes by growing produce on her allotment. Bethan is an accompished fundraiser and has organised Murder Mystery Weekends. She also has a wicked laugh!
Dave Adams
Dave Adams works in Health and Safety by day, which is ironic because he once caused serious injury to himself... by jumping out of his bath! As a seven year old child, Dave was an avid Dr Who fan. Sadly, nearly forty years later, nothing has changed. He's had acting classes and once appeared on a Ken Dodd radio sketch. At school, Dave played Jesus but had a few problems with some wine, a goblet and two of his Disciples.
Dave Berkeley
Dave is no stranger to rock himself. He was a roadie for a local band and even held a microphone by the bell of Brian Jones's saxophone when he performed with The Undertakers in Wallasey! He says he loves to keep alive the music of an era when a musician played an instrument, not a computer. A licensed radio amateur, Dave has had contacts from as far afield as the United States and Russia. Dave is also keen to keep Morse Code alive and can send and receive at about 12 words per minute. An ecclectic mix of hobbies means Dave also keeps Koi Carp, can fly gliders and builds rally cars! An elevator engineer by trade, Dave's claim to fame is that he worked on the lifts for Buckingham Palace and the QE2, so you could say he could be by royal appointment!
Dave Williams
Dave is one of the longest serving presenters at the station. Inspired by Radio Caroline North, he joined Radio Clatterbridge in 1973 and presented the original Mid-Morning Music each Saturday. Dave is a busy man. Despite his time at Radio Clatterbridge he then teaches in a girls' secondary school in Wirral by day. He also finds time to present programmes on a Chester radio station at the weekend. One of his favourite moments was when, on April Fool's Day, he told listeners they would have to wait until midday to flush their toilets. The switchboard was inundated with calls from anxious listeners who hadn't realised the date!
Elaine Leaning
Elaine was born in Ellesmere Port, grew up on the Wirral and now lives in Chester. She is married with three children - Maya, Robin & Daisy. Elaine works as a freelance television director which has taken her throughout Europe and she is frequently to be found at Parliamentary events. She is also studying part-time, to teach Media Studies at university.
George Mills
Radio newcomer George is relishing the chance to present his own programme. But he's no stranger to music and the media. The full-time student works for a music blog called notmanyexperts.com where he has interviewed many bands and artists including Goldie Lookin' Chain, White Denim, Finley Quaye and Frightened Rabbit! George loves playing football and cricket, as well as cycling. He has a very broad music taste, ranging from Curtis Mayfield and Led Zeppelin to Queens of The Stone Age and Norah Jones! George has got a younger brother and an older sister, so is the middle child in his family.
Graeme White
Graeme talks rubbish for a living. During the week he is a Waste Management Officer at West Lancashire Council. Each Sunday you can find him spouting trash of a different kind. Having already volunteered with our colleagues at Arrowe Sound, Graeme also worked at Radio Everton as the club's commentator. He's the man who plays the music before all home games. Married with three daughters, his guilty pleasure is Rick Astley music. He's even seen him in concert!
Ian Grant
Ian became involved in the station after visiting Vic Charles for a special promotion with ASDA, where he works. Ian was so impressed with the broadcast that he has now joined the team and taken over this request programme from Vic! He's also our Fundraising Manager and has promised to grab as much cash for us as possible!
John Roberts
John joined Radio Clatterbridge after taking up early retirement. The rest of his spare time is now filled with working on his house and redesigning his gardens. But a warning to his neighbours, he even intends to build a shed so he has somewhere to practice the banjo! A child of the sixties, he loves the Beatles, Searchers, Motown, Soul and Elvis, of whom he does a near perfect impression of... if you close your eyes. He worked for P+O in Australia as an electrical officer on the same ship used in the film Carry on Cruising! John provided the nick name of "dream team". But if you think it's because they're the best team you could ever dream of, think again. He John says its because they all look half asleep!
June Wood
June is no stranger to broadcasting but this is her first foray in front of a microphone. By day, she's a video editor at ITV where she's worked on everything from This Morning to Granada Reports. The mum of three loves music though, and can often be heard humming long-forgotten tunes in her edit suite!
Liam Phoenix
Liam is Radio Clatterbridge's bright spark. A full time electrician during the week, he's well known for working while listening to the radio. Now Liam's on the other side of the microphone, playing music to the audience at Clatterbridge. He loves a laugh too. Whether its having a chuckle at Lee Evans, or making people chortle himself, he says laughter is the best drug in the world!
Natalie Kelly
Natalie Kelly has been with Radio Clatterbridge since 2003 and, as well as presenting part of the Saturday Crew, also reads the football news and fixtures each week.
Neil Henry
Neil has been a member of Radio Clatterbridge since the 1970s. His favourite phrase when something goes wrong in the radio studio is "It's a good job I'm not an airline pilot" - which is unfortunate, because his job is actually to look after the safety of trains on the north west's rail network.
Neil Jackson
Father-of-two Neil "Jacko" Jackson is renowned for his fetish for playing Rick Astley songs on his programmes. An electrical store manager, he lives in Oxton with his wife, Sue, whom he met at Radio Clatterbridge many moons ago. Neil also presents programmes on local radio stations in his spare time.
Paul Johnston
PR guru Paul started off his professional life as a radio journalist before realising he could earn more money as a spin doctor. He now works in Liverpool City Council's Press Office.
Sarah Russell
By day, Sarah Jones works with numbers as an accountant. By night, she's one of the biggest Ronan Keating fans on the planet! She realised her dream of meeting the former Boyzone frontman in 2004. She admits that if she had her way, all she would play is his songs! Sarah also enjoys fundraising and describes herself as a bubbly person who gets excited very easily...
Steve Evans
Steve joined Radio Clatterbridge to give something back to the NHS for looking after him during a lengthy stay in hospital. Retired from work because of ill health, it gives the ex-army man more time for his other hobbies including reading and the media. He combined the two to give a book review on Radio City's Pete Price show and has completed the National Broadcasting Course at the station. Steve couldn't escape the media even if he wanted to: His wife is a media studies teacher! Born at Clatterbridge, Steve shares his home in nearby Bromborough with Jeanette and three labradors and has one son. Sport also plays an important role in Steve's life. A huge Liverpool fan, he is also a volunteer helper for the 2012 Olympic Games and a first aider. Once a goalkeeper trained by the legendary Gordon Banks, Steve almost signed pro forms for German Bundesliga side Hannover '96. But he feels he wasn't good enough and suspects they did too!
Steve Lord
Steve Lord did his first show for Radio Clatterbridge at the age of fourteen. Now, "roughly" 30 years on, Steve is back and presenting on a Wednesday night. Steve loves watching footy, and spends some of his spare time commentating on LFC's matches for the Merseyside Hospitals Radio Network.
Tamhas Woods
Tamhas is one of the newest presenters on Radio Clatterbridge. And we're sure he's up to the job. He studied media at John Moores University. So we had better all be on our best behaviour!
Vic Charles
Vic once asked Gene Vincent who he was. Once a session musician and motor spares supremo, Vic was also the driving force behind the recent move into Radio Clatterbridge's current studios.
Vicki Wood
Vicki began life at Radio Clatterbridge as a news-reader. But she was soon moved on to present her weekly programme, Reflections. That ended when Vicki decided she wanted to study for a degree in Media but, now having achieved that goal, she's back on the station every evening with Late Night Love Songs.
Wayne Lowe
Wayne's ultimate ambition is to present on an independent radio station... although he says he won't forget his friends at Radio Clatterbridge! He currently has a website doing voiceovers from his own studios.
